At Nostril Damas, a service of Doodle Buddy Labs, LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), we believe in being upfront about how we handle your information. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and what choices you have when you use nostrildamas.com and any related services (collectively, the "Service").

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

What We Collect

Information You Provide

When you use Nostril Damas, you type questions and follow-up prompts into the Service. These questions, along with the AI-generated predictions and responses, are stored in our database (Google Firestore) and associated with an anonymous identifier. We do not ask for your name, email address, or any other personally identifying information to use the Service.

If you contact us at support@nostrildamas.com or privacy@nostrildamas.com, we will collect whatever information you choose to include in that communication.

Information Collected Automatically

When you use the Service, we and our service providers automatically collect certain technical and usage information, including:

  • Anonymous User ID. We use Firebase Anonymous Authentication to assign a random, anonymous identifier to your browser. This identifier is used to associate your prediction history with your device. It does not contain your name, email, or any personally identifying information.
  • Analytics Data. We use Google Analytics (GA4) via Firebase to collect usage data such as pages viewed, features used, prediction counts, session duration, browser type, device type, operating system, screen resolution, language preference, referring URLs, and general geographic region (city/country level derived from IP address).
  • Cookies and Similar Technologies. We and our service providers use cookies, pixel tags, and similar technologies to recognize your browser, understand usage patterns, and serve and measure advertisements. See "Advertising" below for more detail.
  • IP Address. Your IP address is collected by our hosting and analytics providers (Google Firebase, Cloudflare, Google Analytics). We do not store raw IP addresses ourselves, but our service providers may process them for security, analytics, and ad delivery purposes.

Information From Third-Party Advertising Partners

When ads are displayed on the Service, our advertising partners (such as Google AdSense) may collect information about your device and browsing activity to serve you relevant advertisements. This may include your device identifier, IP address, browsing history across other sites, and inferred interests. This collection is governed by the privacy policies of those advertising partners. See "Advertising" below.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Operate and improve the Service
  • Store and display your prediction history on your device
  • Generate shareable prediction pages when you choose to share a prediction
  • Analyze usage trends and measure the performance of the Service
  • Serve advertisements
  • Respond to support requests
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents
  • Comply with legal obligations

Advertising

Nostril Damas is a free, ad-supported service. We work with third-party advertising partners, including Google, to display advertisements on the Service.

These advertising partners may use cookies, device identifiers, and similar technologies to collect information about your use of the Service and other websites and apps over time. This information may be used to provide advertisements that are more relevant to your interests, to measure the effectiveness of ad campaigns, and for other purposes described in their privacy policies.

You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting https://adssettings.google.com or by adjusting the ad personalization settings on your device.

Sharing Predictions

When you choose to share a prediction, a public copy of that prediction (including the question you asked and the AI-generated response) is created and made accessible via a unique URL. Anyone with that URL can view the shared prediction. You can delete a shared prediction at any time through the Service, which will remove the public copy.

Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share information with third parties in the following circumstances:

  • Service Providers. We share information with companies that provide services on our behalf, including hosting (Google Firebase, Cloudflare), analytics (Google Analytics), AI processing (Google Gemini), and advertising (Google AdSense). These providers are bound by their own privacy policies and terms of service.
  • Legal Requirements. We may disclose information if required to do so by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
  • Business Transfers. In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change by posting the updated Privacy Policy on the Service.

Data Retention

Your prediction history and anonymous user ID are retained as long as your anonymous session remains active. You can delete individual predictions or your entire history through the Service at any time. When you delete a prediction, the associated data is permanently removed from our database, including any public shared copy.

Analytics data is retained in accordance with Google Analytics' standard data retention settings.

Children

Nostril Damas is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or under 16 for children located in the European Union). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under these ages. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13 (or 16 in the EU), we will take reasonable measures to promptly delete that information from our records. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@nostrildamas.com.

Your Rights and Choices

All Users

  • Delete Your Data. You can delete individual predictions or your entire prediction history at any time through the Service.
  • Opt Out of Personalized Ads. You can opt out of personalized advertising using the methods described in the "Advertising" section above.
  • Cookies. Most web browsers allow you to manage cookie preferences. Disabling cookies may affect the functionality of the Service.

California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we have collected about you and how it has been used and shared.
  • Delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.
  • Opt Out of the Sale or Sharing of Personal Information. While we do not sell personal information in the traditional sense, the use of advertising cookies and tracking technologies on the Service may constitute "sharing" of personal information under the CCPA/CPRA. You can opt out of this sharing by adjusting your ad personalization settings as described in the "Advertising" section.
  • Non-Discrimination. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA/CPRA rights.

European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland (GDPR)

If you are located in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation:

  • Access. You have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification. You have the right to request correction of inaccurate personal data.
  • Erasure. You have the right to request deletion of your personal data.
  • Restriction of Processing. You have the right to request that we restrict the processing of your personal data.
  • Data Portability. You have the right to request a copy of your personal data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format.
  • Objection. You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data, including for direct marketing and profiling purposes.
  • Withdraw Consent. Where we rely on consent as a legal basis for processing, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time.

Our legal bases for processing your personal data are: (a) our legitimate interests in operating and improving the Service and serving advertisements, (b) your consent where required (such as for non-essential cookies), and (c) compliance with legal obligations.

Data Security

We use commercially reasonable measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls on our infrastructure. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information.

International Data Transfers

The Service is operated from the United States. If you are accessing the Service from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.
